From my personal collection: extremely rare ceramic box by aldo londi for bitossi dating from the 60's. Rare because of its shape and its beige/brown color which is rarely found on these ceramic objects: they are almost always found in the now classic blue color "rimini blu". I don't know of any other of this color and shape, I was only able to find one other box but rectangular. Excellent general condition of both the box and its lid. Max diameter 20.5cm -- neck diameter 17.5cmcm -- height 9cm -- empty weight 2 kgs. Marked "5073 italy" under the box (the rectangular box with similar enameling had the marking "5078 italy". An ashtray with the same decor bears the mark "4815 italy" and the raymor marking (usa importer of bitossi ceramics). This tells me suggests that this box was created for export to the usa, which would explain its rarity... Not to be missed.
