Superb monumental ancient jar in glazed terracotta, originating from a traditional rural production in the South-West of France. With an elongated cylindrical shape, this piece impresses with its height of one metre, which is rare for this type of ancient container. The original glaze, in a deep mustard yellow, features an authentic and vibrant patina, with subtle greenish nuances, visible firing drips, and slight metallic reflections, characteristic of ancient firings. The surface retains a perfectly legible artisanal texture, with minor age-related wear at the neck and body, attesting to its age and use, without any structural chips or restoration. The whole is sound, stable, and perfectly usable as decoration. Originally intended for utilitarian use (storage, reserve), this jar now stands out as a strong and sculptural decorative piece, ideal for: • a characterful courtyard or garden, • an entrance, • an interior with Mediterranean accents. 📏 Dimensions: Height: 100 cm. Diameter: 25 cm.
