Pair of Empire armchairs in Mahogany, France, circa 1820-1830. Elegant pair of mahogany armchairs from the Empire period, resting on front legs in a sheath and featuring remarkable sculpted armrests in the shape of swan necks ending in finely chiseled stylised heads. The slightly inclined backs are crowned with a carved crossbar adorned with floral motifs. The overall design maintains a beautiful, sober, and balanced line characteristic of Restoration period furniture, inheriting the Empire taste. The upholstery has been redone in a sumptuous crimson fabric with a decoration of medallions and golden scrolls, offering a particularly elegant contrast with the warmth of the mahogany. The seat cushions are removable. These armchairs will fit well in both a classic interior and a contemporary decor seeking characterful pieces. Condition. Very good overall condition. Structure is sound and stable. Upholstery and fabric are in very good used condition. Some light signs of age on the wood, without affecting the quality of presentation. Dimensions. Height: 94 cm. Width: 63 cm. Depth: 52 cm.
