This mahogany and burl mahogany veneer sideboard has a sober and refined line, typical of the Empire style. It opens at the waist with two drawers equipped with functional locks and pretty keys carved in bronze. The fillet entrance adds a small decorative touch. Just below, two recessed doors trimmed with a burl mahogany veneer arranged in an open book, open with a chiseled key, revealing a shelf and a large storage space. The uprights are dressed with detached columns, with bronze capitals and collars, resting on ball feet. The furniture is topped with a Belgian granite marble with crystalline limestone accompanied by shells and fossils. The interior of the drawers and the structure are in solid oak offering robustness and authenticity. A beautifully crafted piece of furniture, both decorative and functional, a testament to the craftsmanship of its time. ******** Period: Late 19th century Excellent condition after restoration in our cabinetmaking workshop.
