Sigurd Ressell Falcon lounge chair leather and metal Vatne Norway 1970

An iconic “Falcon” lounge chair designed by Sigurd Ressell and produced by Vatne Møbler in Norway during the 1970s. The chair features its characteristic suspended construction, with a brown canvas sling stretched between a sculptural chromed metal frame. Loose cushions in warm cognac leather rest within the sling, creating the distinctive floating appearance of the design. Deep button tufting, leather straps and fittings add character to the construction, while the naturally developed patina gives the original leather a warm appearance. The high backrest and flexible suspended seat provide a comfortable and relaxed seating position. The combination of a lightweight structure, suspended seating and generous leather cushions reflects Ressell’s distinctive approach to Scandinavian modern design. The original leather has been carefully cleaned and treated with a nourishing leather cream, preserving its natural patina while reducing the appearance of minor scratches and wear.
