A pair of "Willow" armchairs designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for the Willow Tea Room in Glasgow in 1903. Black lacquered ash frame and leather upholstery. In its original configuration, the high semi-circular back of this solid wood throne served as a separation between the entrance and the tea room beyond. Complex series of lines and shapes reflect Mackintosh's style. Charles Rennie Mackintosh (7 June 1868 – 10 December 1928).
