Large vase from the 'Quarzi' series by Venini, Murano 2004. Coral red glass with overlaid decoration in gold and silver leaf and a satin base. With a Venini label on the body and an engraved signature 'Venini 2004' on the base. Venini, founded in 1921, is one of the leading art glass manufacturers in Murano, renowned for its collaborations with famous artists and award-winning creations. In 1921, Paolo Venini and Giacomo Cappellin founded a company that would become world-famous. Under the artistic direction of Vittorio Zecchin, the company Vetri Soffiati Cappellin Venini & C. Established itself as the prodigy of the 1920s, the golden age of Murano glass. Over the decades, countless internationally renowned artists — such as Napoleone Martinuzzi, Carlo Scarpa, Tomaso Buzzi, Fulvio Bianconi, Tuni Zuccheri, Thomas Stearns, Toots Zynski, and Ettore Sottsass — enthusiastically collaborated with Venini, each bringing techniques and creations of great uniqueness. Venini's works have been awarded numerous prizes. Even today, Venini remains one of the most prestigious artistic glass manufacturers in Murano.
