RS Associates from Montreal was a major name in the Canadian design world in the 1950s and 1960s. They were masters at translating the modern, sleek Danish style to the North American living room. This particular piece has had a special journey: the table was brought to Germany by a Canadian soldier when he was stationed there. After several moves and years of loyal service, it was time for a new chapter, making this unique piece now available in Europe. The side table itself is a beautiful example of their style: slim, elegant, and with that typical 'Mid-Century' look. The top is beautifully shaped and has refined, slanted edges, making it almost appear to float. The legs taper towards the bottom, giving the table its characteristic airy look. What is really special about this model is the handy extra shelf under the top. This magazine holder is not just a shelf, but is stylishly covered with black leather. In our workshop, we have fully checked and prepared the table for many more years of living pleasure. To optimally preserve the wood, we have applied a modern, protective coating that protects the top from grease, dirt, and moisture. Although there are some light signs of use visible here and there that match the age and rich history of the furniture, these are never disturbingly present. We specifically mention a repair carried out by a furniture maker from the military base in the 1970s, resulting in a small discoloration near the repair, see the photos.
