Authentic Persian Gashgai Rug. Let yourself be enchanted by the history and character of a masterpiece of Persian craftsmanship. This large Gashgai rug, hand-knotted around 1960 by the nomadic tribes of southern Iran, is a true invitation to travel and contemplation. A vibrant and natural palette. Its deep cherry red hue is unlike any other. Thanks to the use of artisanal dyes, it features a fascinating abrash: variations in shades from plum to pink that change with the light, offering an organic relief to the velvet. The field is punctuated by four grey-brown corner pieces and a central ivory medallion, all sprinkled with ancestral symbols and stylised animals, signatures of the weaver's imagination. Material and Authenticity. Made from pure natural wool, this rug embodies sustainable and ethical decoration. It has retained a remarkable thickness and very comfortable velvet. Perfectly clean, this rug has been rigorously cleaned in a traditional manner. Please note a pronounced wear (thinning of the velvet) on about 30 cm on one side with the near disappearance of the fringes (see photos). This rug, far from modern industrial standards, is intended for a discerning clientele who will appreciate the imperfections of an old product with authentic character. This unique piece will enhance your interior. Feel free to ask me any questions. Easy shipping via Colissimo or Mondial Relay.
