Attention collectors and lovers of charming antiques: here is a very beautiful zoomorphic terrine representing a duck (either a teal or a crested duck), signed by the famous earthenware master Michel Caugant. Originally intended to hold the high-end pâtés of the Caugant house, these ceramics from the 70s/80s have become true icons of "Arty" and rustic vintage decoration. This two-part piece is appealing with its warm and natural colours, entirely hand-painted. The textured shades of brown and ochre mimic the plumage, enhanced by a touch of bright green on the temples and a stunning gradient of green and cobalt blue on the wings. The outer base in white glaze bears the brand's authenticity inscription: "This piece in genuine earthenware has been entirely handmade. I offer it to you exclusively. Michel Caugant." Ideal for display on a sideboard, repurposed as a jewellery box/trinket dish, or simply to enhance a characterful table. Condition: Very good overall vintage condition. The glazing is shiny and the colours impeccable. For complete transparency: there is a slight tremor or minimal wear on the inner edge of the lid, completely invisible when the terrine is closed. The white interior is clean and healthy. It will pair very well with the Duck Terrine in earthenware – Michel Caugant already for sale in my shop.
