Decorative Art Deco upholstered pouf or ottoman from Czechoslovakia, dating from the 1940s. This charming compact stool features a distinctive rounded and segmented silhouette, with generously padded vertical sections defined by twisted decorative cord. The individual sections converge at the top around a central upholstered button, creating an attractive flower-like composition when viewed from above. The upholstery features a stylized floral and foliage pattern in warm shades of brown and ochre against a cream ground, giving the piece a particularly decorative character. Its sculptural proportions and compact dimensions make it highly versatile. It can be used as a vanity or dressing stool, footstool, small ottoman, occasional seat or decorative accent piece in both period and contemporary interiors. The piece was reupholstered some time ago and remains in good vintage condition, with minor signs of use and age consistent with its period. A charming example of 1940s Czechoslovak decorative furniture, combining Art Deco influence, traditional upholstery techniques and an unusually sculptural form.
