Superb pair of vintage glazed ceramic vases signed by Gustave de Bruyn (1838-1916). Coming from a lineage of Belgian earthenware makers, the founder of the Faïencerie de Fives in Lille revolutionised the field by inventing a lead-free glaze. These slip-cast pieces stand out for their harmonious organic shapes, typical of the Art Nouveau movement, as well as for their refined decorative work inspired by nature. The ceramic features a nuanced glaze in shades of green, highlighting the volumes and relief of the decoration. These vases demonstrate a high quality of craftsmanship and are remarkable decorative objects, ideal for Art Nouveau enthusiasts, collectors, or to enhance an elegant and authentic interior. A small chip is noted on the base. Dimensions: H 31.5 X D 17 cm.
