Empire mirror with triangular pediment, 19th century. Dimensions: Height: 102 cm. Width: 63 cm. Charming Empire-style mirror in stained mahogany, topped with a triangular pediment inspired by ancient architecture. The composition evokes a classical temple with its pilaster-style supports adorned with gilded bronze appliqués featuring female busts styled in an antique manner. The pediment is enhanced by a central motif in gilded bronze representing a laurel crown within a diamond shape framed by arrows, while the lower crossbar features a bronze rosette. The feet of the pilasters are finished with stylised claws in gilded bronze, reinforcing the neoclassical elegance of the piece. The mirror retains its original glass, which offers a beautiful reflection and contributes to the authentic character of the item. Its harmonious dimensions allow for installation above a console or fireplace, or as a decorative element in an entrance or living room. Period. Second half of the 19th century. Style. Empire. Materials. Stained mahogany, gilded bronze, and glass. Condition. Good overall condition. Some signs of use and slight wear consistent with age. Bronzes well preserved. Decorative piece exhibiting a fine quality of craftsmanship.
