Original framed cuttlefish print

🦑original print of a cuttlefish, handmade on wenzhou paper (mulberry paper). Each gyotaku is a unique piece, stamped with my personal stamp. Certificate of authenticity provided. Frame included, glass pane and oak wood frame. Dimensions: 40x50cm.🦑 🐟artist-fisherman from the tip of finistère, the sea has always nourished me. Everywhere, traces mark the foreshore and my mind. To the imprints of the waves on the shores, I add those of my catches on paper. On the line or while spearfishing, I catch fish and molluscs, soaking up their natural beauty. Once back, I make sure to find the perfect arrangement for their fins, spines, or tentacles. The movement of life must never stop. Then comes the time for pigments: I invent on these bodies the trace that I want to see born. Each part of the animal is a space for interpretation, for playing on texture, dilution, definition. To transmit or make disappear, to erase the material or to register its absence: I make new reliefs emerge through the print, an outdated form of each creature. Finally, I come to place a thin sheet of mulberry paper on the animal: under the variations of my touch the imprint appears. Often, my brushes linger on the paper, chiseling the trace one last time. Final gesture, I affix my stamp in red ink as a signature. I think of my work as a total practice: I conceive the work from the ocean to the paper.🐟.
