Brutalist Mid-century 1960s iron candleholder with a rustic, organic aesthetic, made in West Germany. It has a rough, textured, almost forged appearance with visible seams and a dark matte patina. This gives a sculptural, handcrafted quality rather than a mass-produced polished look. The candleholder features a solid, heavy base, a thick central stem that rises from the base from which multiple asymmetrical arms branch outwards. These arms are formed from dense clusters of welded cylindrical metal tubes creating an organic tree-like structure. The arms extend at different angles each ending in a candle spike set on a shallow circular dish that prevents wax from dripping. A fine example of mid century metalwork combining functional design with sculpture form. Ideal as a statement centrepiece or decorative accent for modern, industrial and vintage interiors.
