Japanese ceramic pot cover formerly used as a brazier (hibachi). In Japanese homes, the hibachi (literally "firepot") hosted embers of charcoal that served as auxiliary heating. Nowadays, the Japanese use them as a pot cache. The model sold is dated March of the 13th year of the Shôwa era, i.e. 1938. The décor is composed of dragons and phoenixes, symbols of marital happiness and prosperity for the Chinese. Very good condition.
