Elegant pair of Louis XVI style medallion armchairs, attributed to the late 18th century, around 1775-1790. These two armchairs feature a beautiful structure made of carved and painted wood in a delicate patinated gray-blue hue, highlighting the charm and refinement of antique furniture. Their oval backs, tapered and fluted legs, carved connecting blocks, and curved armrests reflect the characteristic decorative vocabulary of the Louis XVI period. They are upholstered in a lovely floral tapestry in pastel tones, combining powder pink roses, foliage, and golden motifs on a cream background. The seats are fitted with removable cushions. The paint shows a patina and signs of use that contribute to their authentic character. A decorative and elegant pair, ideal for a classic interior, a refined country house, or contemporary decor blending antique furniture with character pieces. Condition: good apparent used condition, with patina, signs of time, and wear on the upholstery. Structure and dating to be confirmed. Sold only as a pair.
