Large antique mirror Napoleon III style Louis XVI gilded stucco wood 19th century 120x85

Large antique French mirror in Louis XVI style, likely dating from the late 19th century. Important wooden frame adorned with a rich gilded and patinated stucco/composition decoration: floral motifs, fruits, foliage, beaded frieze, and a large openwork pediment with floral decoration. The old glass shows significant pitting and alterations to the silvering, visible in the photographs and particularly interesting for its antique character. The frame is preserved in its original state with its patina. It shows signs of age, wear to the gilding, cracks, small chips, and several losses in the stucco/composition decorations. These are intentionally photographed in detail. The reverse shows its traditional construction: built from assembled wood at a mitre joint, with an old backing secured by nails and a moulded pediment. Overall dimensions: approximately 120 × 85 cm. Glass dimensions: approximately 82.5 × 55.5 cm. A very beautiful decorative mirror despite its flaws, with a strong presence and a genuine antique patina. Sold as is, in accordance with the numerous photographs.
