Bust of a young woman by Salvatore Melani, Art Deco style, 48 cm

Elegant plaster or terracotta bust painted in white, representing a young woman with a luminous and expressive face, her hair sculpted in a fluid movement evoking the wind. This work perfectly embodies the art deco aesthetic of the 1930s, with stylized lines and a very modern dynamism for the time. The bust is signed on the back s. Melani, for salvatore melani (1902–1934), an italian sculptor whose decorative and sensitive works are today sought after by collectors. This good-sized piece (48 cm high, approx. 32 cm wide and 32 cm deep) rests on a solid rectangular base. The whole is in very good condition, with some minimal signs of wear visible on the surface, notably on the edges of the base and the nose, without any apparent loss or restoration.
