Handmade wool vintage persian afshar rug- 115x216cm

Woven by hand this piece is a fine example of persian rugs from the afshar tribal weavers in the 1930s. The central design has been woven on a rust-red background with a repeating pattern. The pattern has been woven in accents of blue, green and ivory- contrasting beautifully with the background colour. This has then been framed by a repeating pattern border that encloses the whole design. Constructed with fine, organic materials including hand-spun wool and cotton. The rich colours come from natural dyeing techniques where organic matters make up the bold and subtle colours, techniques of which have been used for decades. This piece is in great overall condition, clean and ready for use in any home. Chr149. 115x216cm.
