Authentic vintage tea/coffee set in extra-fine porcelain known as "egg shell" (1930s-1950s), fully hand-decorated. Nothing to do with modern reproductions: this is a genuine piece of Japanese craftsmanship from the era, with spectacular lightness and fineness (the porcelain is translucent to light). Rare technique: Rich decoration with Moriage enamels (the floral patterns and the clothing of the geishas are painted with dense enamel touches, creating a beautiful textured relief to the touch). Magnificent harmony of fine lines in brown ink and terracotta/coral red areas (traditional Kutani/Satsuma style). Poetic scene of bijin (Japanese beauties) in a chrysanthemum garden. Stamp: Marked under each base "日本製 土羅宇 製" (Dorau sei — Made by Dorau in Japan). Contents of the lot: 5 cups and their 5 matching saucers. Condition: Very good vintage condition for its age.
