Beautiful portrait of an Italian woman, probably a peasant, wearing a scarf tied simply around her head. Painted in three-quarter view, her posture exudes a certain dignity, while her expressive face and direct gaze, turned towards the painter, capture a moment of life imbued with authenticity and naturalness. This work, dating from the end of the 17th century, beginning of the 18th century, on its original canvas, is framed in a superb period frame in carved walnut.
