A Biedermeier glass from 19th-century Bohemia, Czechia, representing refined utility glass of the era. Made of slightly translucent glass in a deep, saturated ruby red shade, it is covered with rich, cut decoration – round, clear medallions surround stylised fern or palm leaf motifs and subtle flowers, rhythmically arranged over the surface. The vessel's form is characteristic of the period: it widens towards the top, narrowing slightly at the base, giving it an hourglass silhouette. The polished surface and precise, deep cut testify to the high craftsmanship of Bohemia in the mid-19th century. The condition is very good – no damage, chips or visible restoration, and the cut motifs are clearly felt under the fingers. This glass speaks with the voice of Central European Biedermeier – its form and ornamentation reflect a mix of neoclassical symmetry and botanical inspiration that shaped the bourgeois interior aesthetic. The shiny ruby glass, interspersed with geometric patterns, recalls candlelight and the daily ceremonies of a bygone era. The decorations reflect light, creating a play of light as if the vessel carries an echo of past celebrations and attention to detail. This glass could find its place not only as a collector's exhibit in a display cabinet or on a Biedermeier-style chest of drawers, but also in an eclectic arrangement, combined with porcelain from the era or contrasting modern vessels. It will work well on the table during special occasions, and surrounded by wooden decorations, it will emphasise the stylised character of interiors inspired by historical bourgeoisie. It can be combined with other glasses in intense colours or placed next to metal candlesticks to highlight the richness of the cut and the colour of the glass.
