Art Deco vase from the 1930s, made by the renowned Moser factory in Karlovy Vary, is an example of the highest class of Czechoslovak glassmaking craftsmanship. The entire piece is cut from high-quality faceted crystal in an amethyst purple shade, with a subtle colour transition from a cool, light tone at the top to a saturated depth at the massive base. The glossy surface highlights the optical qualities of the material, bringing out the light in the rhythm of intricate cuts and engraved patterns. The body is decorated with precise, symmetrical geometric and floral motifs characteristic of the Art Deco style – stylised flowers, leaves, and arches. The upper edge of the vase attracts attention with a dynamic, wavy finish, closing the harmonious composition. The massive base ensures stability and a strong presence, with all edges perfectly polished and free from chips. The piece is signed with the Moser factory mark. It is in very good condition with no damage or signs of restoration; the glass retains its clarity and shine. This vase carries a story of interwar luxury and artistic discipline – a world where geometric precision intertwines with a fascination for natural ornament. The cool purple crystal could tell stories of Viennese salons and Prague apartments – of brilliance that does not allow itself to remain in the shadows. Its mirrored sides reflect light like the surface of night water in an urban landscape, and the thick glass suggests stability and nobility from a time when applied art was valued as highly as fine art. The vase can be used as a central point of a composition on a massive dark wood table or a marble console; it pairs well with other glassware and Art Deco decorations. Highlighting its geometric cuts with appropriate lighting, such as a side spotlight or a lamp with a milky shade, will bring out the full effect. It can be combined with a single orchid branch or left empty, where the play of light and the amethyst colour become the main decoration in a collector's living room or a modernist library. It works well in mid-century surroundings, classic upholstered armchairs, or minimalist interior architecture, where detail and line matter.
