Culbuto ashtray in chromed metal Bauhaus 30s

This freestanding ashtray, also called smoking foot, has this modernist and refined beauty, specific to the bauhaus movement of the 30s. He spent much of his life in a public building, in another life where smoking was allowed everywhere. Responding to the needs of the time, it combines functionality and aesthetics, with particular attention to simplicity, clarity and geometry. His minimalist style is completely timeless. This design classic has its place in a contemporary decoration. It is in excellent condition with its flashing chrome. Its heavy foot is a spinning top and provides excellent stability. The principle which was to recover the ashes and cigarette butts by turning the central foot is not very practical, we found a cup whose dimensions stick perfectly to those of the ashtray.
