Vintage blue glass candy dish “Remember the Maine” - militaria

Rare cobalt blue pressed glass candy or decorative box in the shape of a warship, with the inscription “remember the maine” on the prow. Iconic piece inspired by the american battleship uss maine, sunk in 1898 in cuba – a triggering event of the spanish-american war. This candy box pays tribute to this historical episode. Probably american work from the 70s-80s, in the style of mosser glass or fenton glass. In two parts: the ship and its finely molded lid. Dimensions: length: 23 cm height: 11 cm width: 8 cm very good general condition, no chips. Dense, intense blue glass with superb reflections in the light.
