Pair of black fan corals on turned wooden base, Height 25 cm

Superb pair of natural black fan corals, mounted on hand-turned wooden bases. These marine specimens, probably from the genus gorgonia, are distinguished by their flattened and finely branched structure, reminiscent of a fan. Their graphic and airy shapes make them sought-after decorative objects, typical of cabinets of curiosities or a naturalist-inspired decor. The bases are made of solid wood, patinated with beautiful natural irregularities, and each piece measures approximately 25 cm high, including the base. The two corals have different shapes, which accentuates their unique character. Areas of partial bleaching on one of the specimens testify to their natural evolution, without structural fragility. Dried and stabilized object, intended solely for decorative use indoors.
