S43F cantilever chair Mid-Century by Mart Stam for Thonet, Germany, 1960s

Vintage design. Cantilever chair in steel tube with armrests by Thonet based on a design by Mart Stam from the 1920s. These are two rare examples in a particularly rudimentary design. The S43 is a classic among tubular steel furniture. Simple and timeless. In these specimens, the steel tube is untreated and shows a beautiful patina. The connection points to the armrests are visibly different. The construction and finish remain clear. The armrests are made of solid wood. The condition is very good with signs of age-related wear and patina.
