Sarreguemines hollow dish FONTANGES model white/pink

This fontanges hollow dish in terre de fer comes from the famous fontanges collection from the sarreguemines factory. The decoration is composed of flowers and the edge is highlighted with a frieze of pink/red flowers. Terre de fer is a commercial name, a label that designates fine earthenware, halfway between earthenware and porcelain. Terre de fer appeared in france around 1770 and reached its peak around 1900.
