Richly decorated and featuring a spherical crown with a flame on top in a classic style. These fire dogs are fitted at the rear with wrought iron brackets to support firewood and/ or a fire basket. Suitable as a decorative element or for use near a fireplace. Robust quality with visible signs of wear. Charles II style, refers to the decorative and literary arts that became popular in England from the restoration of the monarchy in 1660 under Charles II (reigned from 1660 to 1685) until the late 1680s. Restoration style or Carolean style furniture and decoration is some of the most charming antique furniture on the market, robust, well made and attractive, it also oozes the history it has lived through.
