An exceptional 19th century William Alsager Adderley & Co (WAA & Co) English earthenware service, circa 1870. This is the "Florentina" pattern, featuring a blue/grey floral design on a white background. Each piece is stamped with the sailing ship, a mark widely used by William Alsager Adderley between 1876 and 1885. This 98-piece service includes: 32 dinner plates, 22 soup plates, 21 dessert plates, 4 serving dishes, 3 pitchers, 4 low compote dishes, 1 pedestal compote dish, 2 sauce boats, 1 covered, 2 oval platters, 1 large round platter, 1 small round platter, 2 round deep platters, 1 vegetable dish, 1 square salad bowl, and 1 soup tureen. For a 150-year-old service, the set is in very good used condition. Each piece has been checked and meticulously inspected. The pieces that were too damaged were removed to offer here only those in good general condition. There are no chips or cracks. We can find a slight hair on some pieces, a small chip, a small chip in the earthenware, slight brown marks... Witnesses to the history of this incredible service that do not alter the quality of the whole. The dimensions of the pieces can be communicated upon request.
