She is known for her ceramics, lamps and other art objects. Stentoj studied ceramics at the danish national school of ceramics in bornholm. After graduating in 1959, she worked as a designer for several danish companies, including bing & grøndahl and norden. In 1968, she founded her own company, désirée stentoj.
