Absolute crush for this 1950s jug. We love its joyful modernity, its slightly bucolic whimsy, and above all, the freedom of the line. It is a unique piece attributed to the Fratelli Fanciullacci workshop, rooted in the artistic vitality of 1950s Italy. During this period of creative effervescence, they were among the artists who reinvented ceramics, much like Capron, Picault, and Derval did in Vallauris. The chamotte material, delicately textured, almost mineral, is enhanced by the finesse and freedom of the line. This reveals the craftsmanship of Montelupo, where the elegance of Italian design meets spontaneous and naive graphic storytelling. The birds and the rooster, captured by a lively brushstroke, are set in an airy scene accentuated by the striations and touches of primary colours that enliven the object without ever overwhelming it.
