Rare: solid blonde oak secretary from the 1940s/50s. Designer.

Rare: superb solid blond oak secretary from the 1940s/50s. Everything about its design, finish, wood, and spirit suggests a designer piece. However, I have not identified it, and it does not have a plaque. Shallow, quite tall, with its slanted front supports, it looks impressive without taking up much space. The upper part forms a shelf space closed on the sides and back by a beautifully crafted spacer. Below, the top opens with a key (original lock, functional replacement key), revealing a very nice blond oak plywood surface as well as a minimalist yet very aesthetic "theatre" where a lovely golden metal lamp is prominently featured. It works perfectly, with its switch and cord running through the back of the piece via a small hole designed for this purpose. It can be tilted as desired, allowing you to illuminate your workspace. The top is held by hinges and brass arms on the sides. Below, two solid doors with original brass pull handles clip and unclip with charming little "clacks," revealing a nice storage space with an original solid wood shelf. There are a few signs of wear here and there, but nothing major; it is in superb condition and has been thoroughly cleaned. Ideal for a remote working space, as once closed in a living room or bedroom, it takes up very little space and remains a very aesthetic piece. L: 80 cm. H: 151 cm.
