Superb signed marcel guillot vase in stoneware in a blue-green-black monochrome, in perfect condition. A sublime collector's item. Guillot marcel 1910-1985 studied at the school of applied arts in industry, where he became friends with pierre fouquet. He spent some time at the manufacture de sèvres, then opened his workshop in paris, starting with an electric oven, something still rare at the time. Then he settled in st-maur des fossés. After the war, he was responsible, with pol chambost, for organizing the first salon des céramistes d'art de france, in 1949, at la maison de la chimie, with 59 exhibitors. This show would become the salon des ateliers d'art de france, and marcel guillot would be its president for a long time, before jacques blin. He participated in many shows for his ceramics but also for his painting. He employs around thirty employees in his workshop, and produces mass-produced pieces, but also stoneware. He sells for department stores in france and the usa.
