Ceramics by Roland Moreau, Tourrettes-sur-Loup – circa 1960. Very beautiful handcrafted ceramic attributed to Roland Moreau, made in Tourrettes-sur-Loup in the 1960s. This decorative piece with a generous silhouette is appealing due to its glazed decoration typical of Vallauris production and post-war ceramics from the South of France. The enamel work features stunning shades of brown, black, cream, and deep blue, applied in large drop-like patterns inspired by abstract and organic forms. The surface reveals a rich texture, with variations in glaze and an expressive firing that gives the piece its unique character. The bulbous shape combined with the sculptural handle provides a strong and authentic presence. An ideal decorative piece for a wabi-sabi, Mediterranean, brutalist, or modernist interior. Equally elegant on its own or as part of an artist's ceramics collection. Details: – Attributed to Roland Moreau. – Tourrettes-sur-Loup, France. – Circa 1960. – Glazed terracotta. – Multicoloured abstract glazed decoration. – Very nice patina of time. – Generally good condition, slight signs of use consistent with age. – Piece entirely handmade. An expressive and warm ceramic, emblematic of the revival of French ceramics in the 1950s-1960s.
