A very beautiful pair of club armchairs designed by Jacques Adnet in 1931. This model perfectly illustrates the designer's modernist period, where the rigour of the volumes interacts with a great decorative sobriety. The full-arch backrest envelops the seat and extends into straight armrests, forming a compact and perfectly balanced ensemble. The structure rests on a straight-section rosewood base, visually anchoring the seat and highlighting the minimalism of the composition. It extends into four square-section legs, straight at the front and projecting at the back, a signature of the model. Bold curves, controlled proportions, and the absence of superfluous ornamentation reflect Adnet's taste for functional elegance, where the quality of execution is essential. This pair is in excellent condition, fully restored and reupholstered in a very soft fabric, a blend of cotton and linen from Pierre Frey.
