Molteni&C Armchair Gio Ponti Collection - D.153.1 - W6281 Navy Blue Good Condition - No distinct signs of wear. Designed in 1953, the D.153.1 armchair is part of the furniture in Gio Ponti's private home, in via Dezza in Milan. The structure is in satin brass, the upholstery, in two-tone leather or in Rubelli's “Punteggiato” speckled fabric. The fabric, designed by Ponti in 1934, reinterprets the age-old technique of velvet, updating it with contemporary motifs, such as the tight sequences of offset stamps in gradations of color. The D.153.1 armchair enriches the furniture in the Gio Ponti Collection, presented at the 2012 Salone del Mobile.
