Round Coffee Table in Braided Rope with Tripod Wooden Legs. Adrien Audo
The circular tray, with a beautiful thickness, is entirely shaped from braided rope wrapped in concentric spirals, its edge highlighted by a weaving of thick twists that gives the cushion its sculptural presence. It rests on three slightly flared compass legs made of dark brown stained solid wood, providing a firm and stable base. This coffee table is characteristic of the creations of Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet, whose workshop in Golfe-Juan made braided rope a fully-fledged furniture material; their simple and tactile rope coffee tables are among the most emblematic pieces of Riviera taste from the 1950s-1960s. Condition assessment: Good overall condition. Complete and healthy weaving with a nuanced blonde patina, solid wood legs. A warm coffee table, perfect in front of a sofa in a natural and bohemian interior.
