A transparent glass vase in the Art Deco style, produced in Poland in the 1930s, is an example of Central European design from that period. The vessel is made of thick, clear glass with a delicate, cool blue-green tint, featuring a distinctly geometric and architectural form: a body composed of three segments separated by profiled bulges, pronounced faceting, and vertical cuts that enhance the crystalline effect. The wide, flared, octagonal opening corresponds with the massive, stable base. Reduced ornamentation allows focus on the play of light and clarity of the material, showcasing the high quality typical of the machine age. The vase has no additional decorations, colouring, or applications – the only decoration is the play of light on sharp edges and the smooth surface. Condition is very good, with no visible damage or signs of repair; minimal traces typical for vintage glass may be present. The shape of this vase speaks of the optimism and order of 1930s modernism; its geometric form evokes architecture filtered through glass and light. As if cut from a block of ice, raw yet harmonious, it sits at the intersection of functional and artistic reality. Sharp lines suggest confidence, and refracted light creates a dynamic structure – almost as if the object invites reinterpretation, in the spirit of experimentation that permeated Central Europe at the time. The vase can be placed on a low dark wood sideboard or a marble countertop to contrast the clarity of the glass with the depth of the background. It will also look interesting alongside chrome steel objects or ceramics with a geometric silhouette. Suitable for Art Deco-inspired arrangements, but can also be used in eclectic collector interiors, where it will become the centrepiece, especially among other glass or faceted forms. Particularly impressive with subtly diffused light and a single branch with a simple outline. Technique: glass formed by pressing. Polished surface, thick and heavy glass. Recommended care includes cleaning with a soft, damp cloth without abrasive agents to maintain the shine and structural integrity of the glass.
