Polychrome vase in glazed earthenware, Nabeul – 1920

Pretty earthenware vase from nabeul, a city in northeastern tunisia, where the art of pottery dates back to antiquity. Collar and belly are embellished with naïve traditional motifs and flowers, in orange, brick and, to a lesser extent, blue colors. It is green that was chosen for the lip, the two handles and the base of this vase, marked in high parts of arabic letters recalling its origin.
