Art Deco ceramic vase by Ditmar Urbach by Lajos Kassak

Polychrome glazed ceramic vase with a decor composed of scrolls, palmettes, and graphic lines typical of Art Deco. Hand-decorated and painted by the Hungarian painter Lajos Kassak (1887-1967), an avant-garde artist close to the Dadaists and the Bauhaus, for the Ditmar Urbach factory in the 1920s. The Ditmar Urbach company was founded by the Urbach brothers in 1882 in Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia, which became the Czech Republic in 1919. In good condition, with a restoration of a handle on the upper part and a small loss of blue glaze on the neck (see photos). Factory stamp and handwritten signature of the artist Lajos Kassak under the piece. Unique item. Dimensions: height 19 cm, base diameter 7.5 cm, opening diameter 7.5 cm.
