Antique bonbonnière in Sarreguemines majolica by Utzschneider – Cobalt Blue

Magnificent antique sweet jar (covered pot) in fine majolica from the famous pottery of Sarreguemines (Utzschneider & Cie period), dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. This covered box is ideal as a charming sweet jar or decorative box to adorn a retro piece of furniture. It features a stunning monochrome glaze in Cobalt Blue / Majolica Blue that is very bright and shiny. Details of the piece: • Decor: A superb sculpted frieze in high relief encircling the sweet jar, depicting dancing putti (cherubs / little angels). The matching lid is adorned with careful reliefs and a finial in the shape of a top. • Signature: Official stamp engraved under the base: "UTZSCHNEIDER & Cie - SARREGUEMINES - FRANCE". • Dimensions: Height 21 cm|Diameter 13 cm. Condition: Excellent overall condition for its age. The pottery has retained all its brilliance. No cracks or hairlines on the body.
