Ancient Médicis vase

Magnificent ornamental vase in the Médicis shape, made of white glazed porcelain in a neoclassical style. The body features a beautiful rotating relief decoration depicting a frieze of putti (cherubs) as musicians and players, topped with garlands and delicate masks representing draped bacchante heads. The geometric handles with notches are adorned with sculpted grape clusters at their attachments. The vase rests on an elegant moulded foot with fluting and a stable square base. This is a beautifully crafted reissue from the 20th century, following the codes of the famous creations by the sculptor Clodion and the Prussian KPM Berlin factory (with a blue sceptre mark under the base, original assembly with a metal threaded rod). With its balanced silhouette and luminous whiteness, this piece of great elegance will be ideal at the centre of a table, on a sideboard, or a fireplace, adding a touch of classic charm or a chic contrast in a contemporary interior.
