Magnificent authentic old painting, an oil on canvas representing a post-impressionist autumn landscape, signed in the bottom left by the artist valued Basil Poustochkine. The painting shows a ploughed field in terracotta and pink tones, dominated by a grove of evergreen trees, under an evening sky. The technique is characterised by superb brush impasto, adding a lot of texture and relief to the light. Artist: Basil Poustochkine (1893-1973), a painter of Russo-Polish origin. After fighting the Bolsheviks, he settled permanently in France. A discreet and solitary artist, he spent his life painting nature and the edges of forests in the Paris region. His works are regularly auctioned in France and internationally. Origin / Location: A period inscription on the back of the frame indicates "Chaten", most likely locating this view in Châtenay-Malabry (Île-de-France), near the Verrières forest. Back inscriptions: Original exhibition label with the handwritten mention "N°1 View of the forest". Condition & Framing: The canvas is in excellent condition on its original stretcher. It is sold with its period gilded wooden frame and white Marie-Louise. The hanging system is present.📐 Total dimensions (with frame): 35 cm X 29 cm.
