De Sede DS-142 adjustable lounge chair / daybed in black leather, W. Totzek
Adjustable De Sede DS-142 lounge chair and daybed in black leather, designed by Winfried Totzek in 1988 and made by De Sede in Switzerland. A sculptural, multi-functional Swiss design piece from the 1980sā1990s that transforms from a compact armchair into a full-length daybed. Design. The DS-142 is upholstered in thick original black leather on a black lacquered steel base. The backrest and both sides can be folded into many positions: upright as an armchair, with one or both sides flat as a chaise longue, or fully open as a daybed. The photos show the different positions. Condition. Good vintage condition. The backrest and both sides adjust into all positions. The original black leather has a beautiful patina with signs of use: light wear and craquelure on the edge of one armrest, a few scuffs and small scratches on a corner of one side and signs of use with some superficial craquelure on the leather of the seat. The leather is free of tears. The lacquered steel feet have scratches and some rust. Please see the photos for details. Dimensions: height 56ā97 cm, width 160 cm (sides up) to 198 cm (sides flat), depth 82ā98 cm, seat height 40 cm. In the interior.
