Sarreguemines antique earthenware sauce boat U&C opaque eagle's head

This superb antique gravy boat is made of molded white earthenware. With its neck adorned with an eagle's head, it is very elegant and timeless. Made of "Opaque de Sarreguemines" clay, this earthenware contains kaolin and is also known as Terre de Fer or China. This gravy boat bears the brown "U&C Opaque de Sarreguemines" stamp used in the 19th century. In good overall condition, it measures 27 cm wide by 13 cm high. It shows some minor scratches from use.
