The margoum is often adorned with three different types of diamonds depending on the rug: a large central diamond, medium-sized diamonds, or multiple small diamonds. The margoum is almost always surrounded by two borders decorated with various Berber motifs; diamonds, triangles, zigzags, combs… The patterns are always geometric and well-defined on the front. On the back, the wool return threads testify to the artisanal authenticity of this handmade rug.
