Vintage Tunisian Berber rug "margoum" made from pure sheep wool, entirely handwoven by a Tunisian artisan. The kilim rug comes with a certificate of authenticity and origin guarantee issued by the National Office of Handicrafts of Tunisia, certifying that the kilim rug is of first choice, handwoven. Length: 256 cm. Width: 159 cm. Weight: 8.5 kg. Date of manufacture: 1981. The rug is in very good condition. The margoum is unique to Tunisia. These are rugs woven from sheep wool and feature diamond-shaped patterns. The margoum is of Berber origin, thus reflecting Berber art and is decorated with diamonds known as regma, famous Berber motifs symbolising fertility. The margoum is often adorned with three different types of diamonds depending on the rug: A large central diamond. Medium-sized diamonds. Or a multitude of small diamonds. The margoum is almost always surrounded by two borders decorated with various Berber motifs; diamonds, triangles, zigzags, combs… The patterns are always geometric and well-defined on the front. On the back, the wool return threads testify to the artisanal authenticity of this handwoven rug. DELIVERY: Shipping is done via DHL.
