Pair of chairs by Charles and Ray Eames

Sling Tandem chairs by Charles & Ray Eames for Vitra / Herman Miller 1962. In good condition, with some signs of wear (see photos), very rare in chair model. Charles and Ray Eames designed the Tandem Seating at the request of a friend, architect Eero Saarinen, who was looking for a suitable seat for the waiting areas of his new terminal at Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C. The architects of the two new terminals at O'Hare Airport in Chicago, C.F. Murphy Associates, were also looking for a durable, easy-to-maintain and repair seat for public spaces. No stamp. Identified as VITRA Eames Tandem Seatings ETS and Herman Miller seating. Dimensions: w: 67 cm h: 84 cm d: 62 cm.
